J’ai obtenu un doctorat en Géographie Politique à l’Université de Bayreuth (Allemagne), après un diplôme de Master en Sciences Politiques à l’Université de Khartoum (Soudan). Je suis actuellement chercheuse post-doctorante au Department of International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric) à la Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Avant de rejoindre la NMBU, j’ai obtenu une bourse post-doctorale de la Volkswagen Foundation, dans le cadre des Projets Coopératifs en Sciences Sociales sur l’Afrique Sub-saharienne.
J’ai été membre du projet ANR-DGF WAMAKHAIR (Water Management in Khartoum International Research), mené par le CEDEJ, les Universités Nanterre, Paris 8 et Bayreuth (2008-2012), et j’ai fait partie de l’équipe pédagogique de l’ « Ecole Franco-Soudanaise d’Automne. Approches et méthodes de l’enquête en sciences sociales sur les inégalités » (Khartoum, Octobre 2015).
J’ai aussi été consultante pour le Life and Peace Institute in the Horn of Africa, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, pour le Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, et pour le Bertelsmann Stiftung en Allemagne. Mes recherches actuelles sont focalisées sur la violence politique et les stratégies de transformation du développement. Je m’intéresse également aux questions d’urbanisation, d’accès aux ressources, du rapport entre religion et politique, et de gouvernance.
